Poetry Competition - Monday, May 25, 2009
Dunshaughlin Community Colleges First Annual Poetry Competition took place on Thursday 21st May. The awards ceremony was organised by Miss Noonan's transition year class 71B and was attended by all first and second years as well as a number of teachers who are poetry enthusiasts! A number of TY students read a selection of entries from the 150 poems submitted. The winning poems are testament ot the standard of poems submitted.

Dunshaughlin CC Minor Girls Win Leinster Final - Thursday, May 21, 2009
On Thursday the 30th of April the Dunshaughlin Community College Minor Camogie team added another trophy to their cabinet, when they secured a comprehensive win over Kilbeggan Westmeath in the Leinster Schools Final. In addition to this fantastic win the girls have already won the senior and minor county championships and the first year mini sevens county blitz held in Dunganny. On route to the final the girls beat Loreto Navan, Mercy Navan and a very strong team from Johnstown Kilkenny. Captain Cliona Murphy led the girls to their successful victory in the Leinster Final. They showed great determination throughout the whole game.

North Leinster Field and Track Championships - Monday, May 11, 2009
The North Leinster Track and Field Championships took place last Wednesday. Athletes from Dunshaughlin competed in a variety of events. Shauna Moore came 2nd in the 1500m and her sister Caoimhe also took silver in the 500m. Cian Christie was another successful athlete who took gold in the long jump and bronze in the 200m. Eoghan Hogan came first in the 3000m walk and Shane Crowley took top position in the high jump. Congratulations to all of the athletes who took part but especially those mentioned who now qualify for the Leinster competitions

Visit of Archbishop Edward Charles from Sierra Leone in West Africa. - Friday, May 08, 2009
Archbishop Edward Charles visited the school to acknowledge and thank students, staff and parents for the contributions to Sierra Leone from the annual school fund raising events in December. He spoke with a number of students in classes and briefly to the staff. Archbishop Charles told some stories about his country. It is about the size of Ireland with a similar population size. It is rich in diamonds and rutile. It has good fishing on its coasts. Unlike Ireland it has a poor economy.However, young people are going to school everyday to try to improve themselves, and to get qualifications.

Young Social Innovators - Wednesday, April 22, 2009
Earlier this month six transition year students from Dunshaughlin Community College, travelled to Griffith College in Dublin to "speak out" about their chosen social issue of concern, substance abuse. They spoke out about the devasting effects of solvent abuse in a short drama. This speak out was one of eight organised events which took place all over the country, as organised by Young Social Innovators. Minor Camogie Win - Wednesday, April 22, 2009
Well done to the minor camogie panel who had a fantastic win over Johnstown Kilkenny. This great win means the girls are through to the Leinster final. The team led by Captain Cliona Murphy delivered an immpressive dislplay of skill, determination, teamwork and fitness, right up to the final whistle. Meagan Ni Choileain was in unstopable form and Chyenne O'Brien was very strong throughout. Well done to all panel members for their hard work and determination.

Seachtain na Gaeilge - Tuesday, March 24, 2009
A lively Seachtain na Gaeilge was held in the college last week. There was active collaboration between the Irish P.E. and Computer departments. Many students participated in the various competitions, designing St Patrick Day cards and posters. A short concert was held during the week and the Transition Year students put on a fantastic dance display. Ms Ní Dhúshláine and Ms. Nic an Rí hosted a quiz competition for all 5th year students, which was a great success. It is hoped to award some prizes to the winners of the competitions this week

Dunshaughlin CC 4-10 Athenry VS 0-5 Dunshaughlin Community College turned on the style at Ballymahon on Saturday when they proved too strong for Athenry VS in the Under16 All-Ireland VEC semi-final.The victory avenged last year’s defeat by the Galway school ,although Dunshaughlin only fielded two players, Bryan Davis and Conor O’Brien from last year’s panel.Wind-assisted Dunshaughlin were 2-5 to 0-2 to the good at the interval and the anticipated Athenry revival after the resumption never materialised.

Dunshaughlin CC Retain Leinster Title - Tuesday, March 10, 2009
Dunshaughlin CC 4-6 Gallen Ferbane 2-6 Dunshaughlin Community College retained their U16 Leinster vocational A title on Saturday in terrible conditions in St. Lomans Mullingar. The driving rain, slippery surface and wind made this a battle of wills between the Meath men and their Offaly counterparts. It proved to be an extremely physical game played to high tempo and despite the treachorous conditions some excellent football was on show. Ferbane took the game to the holders from the off and got the better of the early exchanges and their policy of denying DCC's star forward Brian Davies any space

North Leinster Division 1 Soccer Title. - Tuesday, March 10, 2009
On Friday last Dunshaughlin Community College secured their first North Leinster Division 1 Soccer title. In the twelveth minute winger Oisin Foley showed blistering pace to beat the St Oliver’s off side trap before unleashing a powerful drive from 20 yards to the back of the St Oliver’s net. Moments later Aaron Mooney in an almost identical finish put Dunshaughlin two goals ahead.

Dunshaughlin CC Crowned Leinster Champions - Thursday, February 26, 2009
Dunshaughlin 6: 15 Portmarnock 3:4 Dunshaughlin Community College finished off the year in style capturing the U14 Leinster Colleges C title in Ballymun against a plucky Portmarnock team. The score line suggests a cake walk but the Meath men didn't have things all their own way during the 60 minutes. DCC tore into the Dublin champions in the early stages as team captain Paul Donellan lorded in at midfield, his all -action display set the tone. Donellan kicked some sublime points in the first half but he was ably assisted by Fergal Cleary and Conor O Brien.

Dunshaughlin CC 1:13 Ashbourne CC 0:2 On Tuesday evening in Dunganny Dunshaughlin Community College put on a dominant show to qualify for the Leinster final for the second year running. The early exchanges were frantic with both sides making plenty of mistakes but five minutes into the match DCC started to seize control. DCC win the North Leinster Championship - Friday, January 23, 2009
Dunshaughlin Community College won the North Leinster Championship yesterday with yet another wonderful performance aganist De La Salle of Dundalk. The game itself was played in Dunganny in cold, breezy and wet conditions. The game started with Dunshaughlin CC playing with the wind and after a slow start Dunshaughlin CC opened the scoring with a fantastic Paul Donnelin run and point . Further points throughout the half were provided by Conor Brien, Paddy Darby, Paul Clarke and Fergal Cleary. Stephen McCarthy made a fine penalty save aswell.

Win for Equestrian Teams - Tuesday, January 20, 2009
DCC kept the flag flying in the Killossery Lodge Stud Interschools' showjumping league last Saturday, 17th January, when Bevin Usher set the standard for the day by winning the individual event. Bevin and her horse Derravarragh Cloud won an exciting jump-off against the clock with the only clear round.

Ski Trip To New Hampshire. - Monday, January 12, 2009
A group of fifty students and five teachers travelled on New Year's day to The Wildcat Mountain skiing area of the state New Hampshire, in the New England region of the US. The group stayed in The Town and Country Motor Inn and were shuttled each day to the nearby skiing area. The students were broken into five smaller group of varying ability, ranging from expert to novice. Each of these groups were under the watchful eye of their own instructor for each of the five days skiing.The Wildcat Mountain area is known for its cold wind and it didn't disappoint. The skiing was challenging and rewarding for each of the groups.All returned home safely

DUNCC V KILLINA Dunshaughlin are through to the North Leinster final after another very impressive win over Offaly team Killina who are traditionally good at this level.Dunshaughlin again started brilliantly and got 3 goals inside 5 minutes with Paul Clarke netting again with one of the goals. Dunshaughlin were led brilliantly by numerous players such as Paul Donnellan and Glen Fitzpatrick.Jake Harlin scored 2 goals aswell and Conor O Brien scored an excellent goal .Dunshaughlin's scoring was exceptional considering they were against the wind in the first half. Dunshaughlin are through to the Leinster U14 gaelic semi final after a demolition of a Dundalk school.
Dunshaughlin came out fired up and anyone who witnessed the game saw an exibition of great football through Paul Clarke and Paul Donnellan. Dundalk offered little effort and DCC took advantage of poor defending, banging in goals through Paul Clarke [4].

DCC in Junior Final - Monday, December 22, 2008
Last Friday saw Dunshaughlin Community College put up an outstanding display against a Moyne team from Longford. The end result saw Dunshaughlin win the match by seven points to no score.Dunshaughlin scored six of their seven points in the first half where they were helped along by a gailforce wind on their backs. Dunshaughlin’s scores came from Ian Gilette, Bryan Davis, Evan Kinsella and James Beaty.The second half was an up-hill battle for Dunshaughlin as they were subjected to ice cold rain. However Dunshaughlin managed to hang on to their lead,to win the match . Man of the match Colum Mc Cullagh.

DCC Camogie Teams do the Double in the Meath County Final - Monday, December 22, 2008
Both the Minor and Senior camogie teams at the College have won County Titles. The minors were out first against Loreto Navan. Dunshaughlin were slow to start to start finding the conditions very tough. Christine Grimes, Catriona Kennedy and Emma McLoughlin were solid at the back dealing with any threats from Loreto. Dushaughlin led by 2 points at half time with scores coming from Catherine Carroll (goal) and Cliona Murphy (point) and Tara Murphy (point). Morale was low at half time but Captain Cliona Murphy really got the girls motivated which resulted in an excellent second half.

Student Council's Food Hamper Collection - Wednesday, December 17, 2008
The spirit of Christmas is well and truly alive in Dunshaughlin Community College. The Student Council recently organised a food hamper collection in aid of St Vincent de Paul. There was a fantastic response to the collection and overall 32 hampers were donated from the school. The Student Council, and their liaison teacher Ms. Nic an Rí, would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all staff and students who helped to make the collection such a success. The hampers will be distributed this week, to families in the local community.

Win for the School Show Jumping Team - Tuesday, December 16, 2008
The college show jumping teams had a superb start to the new Interschools Show jumping League, run by Killossery Lodge Stud, last Saturday, 13 December. Stephanie MacSweeney got the day off to a flying start by coming 2nd in the individual event. The team show jumping was won by the DCC White team of Jessica O'Brien, Mathilde Sauveroche, Bevin Usher and Zoë O'Brien, who finished on a final score of zero faults. A clear in the jump-off gave the team 1st place over Newbridge College. The DCC Blue Team of Daniel Benson, Jamie Nolan, Kevin Cusack and Stephanie MacSweeney finished in 3rd place. Well done to all who gave up another Saturday to represent the school. The League continues after Christmas with DCC leading the table.

Dunshaughlin Squeeze Past Ratoath - Tuesday, December 09, 2008
DCC ensured qualification in the North Leinster U14 Boys Gaelic League on Friday with a hard fought victory over Ratoath. Adverse playing conditions meant that it was a battle of wills and thankfully the hosts showed their mettle after a poor start. The visitors were all over our team in the opening ten minutes with Ben Duggan saving the day between the sticks. A great finish from Stephen Mc Carthy settled DCC down as we took the lead moments before half time. After the break DCC reduced the amount of needless fouls and started to play some quality football to close out the game. Best on the day were the brilliant Conor o Brien, Glenn Fitzpatrick, Daniel Benson and Paul Donnelan.

DCC Showjumping - Monday, December 01, 2008
The first competition of the Hoofprints League Interschools Showjumping got underway in Killossery Lodge Stud on Sunday November 30. DCC fielded two teams but did not qualify for the jump-off. The event was won by St. Finian's, Mullingar, with Newbridge College coming second. 39 teams took part, coming from as far afield as Wexford and Westmeath. Daniel Benson, however, saved the day for DCC by winning the individual event with a brilliant double clear round on Cody. The next competition will take place on Saturday 13th December, also in Killossery.

DCC Overcome Nobber - Monday, December 01, 2008
DCC opened their U-14 Gaelic North Leinster League account with a hard fought win over Nobber. The visitors got off to a flyer and a combination of good play from Nobber and poor tackling from DCC meant that the men from North Meath were leading at half time. Dunshaughlin re grouped at half time and came out all guns blazing after the break. Aggressive tackling, slick inter play and dead eye finishing saw DCC regain the lead and closed the game out.

Students Participatie in the" BiG Sing" - Friday, November 28, 2008
On Thursday 27th November 163 students from the school took part in The Irish Big Sing along with students from all over Ireland and the UK .They sang You Gotta Be ( By Desere) at 2.45pm simultaneously in order to try and break a record for the Guinness Book of Records. The 163 choir members ranged from 1st Year – LCA and they sang the song with great gusto to an attentive audience ! Each of the students that participated was requested to bring in one euro to raise funds for Child Line and the Special Olympics. After The Big Sing students listened to Mr. Maurice Carbery and Ms. Imelda Carroll as they described their work as volunteers with The Special Olympics. Well done to the music teachers Mrs. Ryan and Ms. Solan and all of the students involved.

Senior Camogie Leinster Quarter Final DCC V Killcormack DCC 6:4 Killcormack 2:5 - Tuesday, November 25, 2008
Dunshaughlin senior camogie team secured a place in the Leinster semi final with a comfortable win over old rivals Killcormack. The Dunshaughlin girls got off to a great start with Shauna Curtis scoring the first point. The fowards seemed to be in unstopable form with Kristina Troy scoring 2 goals, Adrainne Mc Cann 1:1 all before half time. The Killcormack girls were battling hard and had a score of 1:3 at half time. The second half seen Dunshaughlin retain nearly all possession.

LCVP Visit - Tuesday, November 25, 2008
Mr. Cumiskey's LCVP 5th Year class 21C visited Astellas Pharma Inc. as part of their Link Modules programme. The students have to write a Summary Report based on the visit. The students will write about the health and safety, quality control, career opportunities and marketing in the company in their report. The group was also accompanied by Ms. Wickham who is the LCVP Co-ordinator.

U 14 Soccer FAI League Division 1 - Tuesday, November 25, 2008
Dunshaughlin C.C. 4 St. Oliver's (Drogheda) 4 Dunshaughlin drew 4 -4 with St. Oliver's in the last game of the League. They have to wait on other results to see if they qualify for the Semi-Final. Dunshaughlin were down 4-1 at half time but battled back in the second half by scoring three goals to level the match. Goals were scored by Conor O' Brien, Ben Duggan and two goals by David Beattie.

Dunshaughlin secured an last gasp victory against CBS Tullamore on Wednesday last. Dunshaughlin went two goals down in the first half. Tullamore looked a powerful side and Dunshaughlin were unlucky to be only two goals down as half time approached. In the second half Dunshaughlin gradually clawed their way back into the game and had some brilliant chances to score. Under 14 Soccer FAI League Division 1 - Thursday, November 20, 2008
Dunshaughlin opened their league campaign with a win over Drogheda side St. Mary’s. Goals were scored by David Beattie, Aaron Mooney and Paul Donnelan.
It started off very even as the conditions played havoc. Both teams showed very little in attack before Paul Donnelan picked out David Beattie's run. All Paul Donnelan had to do was slip the ball through the St. Mary’s defence and David Beattie coolly slotted it home.

St Kevin's finglas 2 Dunshaughlin CC 1 - Friday, November 14, 2008
The under 18 soccer team were beaten in Round 2 of the Leinster A cup on Friday last. Dunshaughlin conceded early in the first half of the match when a powerful drive from a St Kevin's player was brilliantly saved by keeper Michael Mc Carthy only for the rebound to be tapped home. Dunshaughlin were all square 10 minutes later with midfielder Brian Hanby dribbling by two St Kevin's players and unleashing a powerful shot to the back of the net from 25 yards. The remainder of the game was a tight affair with both sides playing some great passing football.

Open NIght - Monday, November 10, 2008
The corridors of Dunshaughlin Community College, were filled to capacity last Wednesday night - but this time instead of children thronging the halls it was the turn of the adults. The school hosted a very successful enrolment and open night, welcoming parents, fifth and sixth class pupils from the surrounding areas. Every room in the school was a hive of activity with each department displaying the vast curriculum offered at the college. All aspects of school life including academic and sporting achievements were visible on the night

College Charity Run raises 3,500 for Crumlin Children's Hospital. - Tuesday, November 04, 2008
A 5km run at our college on Thursday October 23rd raised in excess of 3,500 for Crumlin Children’s Hospital. Over 130 pupils and 20 staff members ran walked, jogged in the event. Despite the inclement weather, the event was a resounding success as, coping with the tough conditions added to the sense of achievement for the participants. The event is part of the Jump for Joy initiative instigated by Ms Ross

Both Senior and Minor camogie teams travelled to Trim to play one of their toughest opponents yet, Loreto Trim. The Minor team played first. It took the girls a while to settle, although dominating the game during the first half, the score at half time was 0-2 to 1-1, to Trim. From the start of the second half the girls really started to pull together.

Junior Golfers - Monday, November 03, 2008
Our three junior golfers (Steven McCarthy, Gary Flanagan and Alan McEntee) came fifth in last week's competition. As the first four only qualify, our boys missed the cut by a few shots. The boys did us proud and performed to the best of their ability. Well done to them. A special thanks to Steven McCarthy's dad for dropping the golfers to Knockanally and picking them up when they were finished.

Camogie Win - Wednesday, October 15, 2008
Yesterday in the horrible conditions, Dunshaughlin still travelled out to play Mercy of Navan. Even in the waterlogged pitch Dunshaughlin headed out with high hopes and showed no mercy in the game! In the first half a flyer of a goal from Emma Mc Gill put Dunshaughlin in an early lead. Then again Rebecca Keane scored another putting the score at two goals to nothing. In the second half it got better as an outstanding performance from Rebecca Keane made it happen again with another goal and a point. The final score was Dunshaughlin 3-1 to Mercy 0-1.

Dunshaughlin’s juvenile boy’s Gaelic team made an impressive start to the year on Wednesday with a thumping victory against their neighbours Dunboyne. DCC arrived with a massive panel that allowed them to field three separate teams that all did themselves justice despite a gale force wind that blew throughout the three matches.

The game was over as a contest after 15 minutes with ace marks man Conor Deveraux bagging an early hatrick, immediately followed by a sublime chip by Brian Hanby for a fourth.

Extra Curricular Exhibition - Tuesday, October 07, 2008
On Tuesday 30th September DCC held it's first ever Extra Curricular Exhibition. Every sport and club in the school put a display together and were given the opportunity to increse awareness of and participation in their activity. There was a great buzz in Assembly thoroughout the day and the extent of extra curricular work going on in the school was clear for all to see. Student Enterprise Day - Tuesday, September 23, 2008
Bradley Murphy, Anup Dambal and Shane O' Brien represented the school on Monday 22nd September at the Student Enterprise Day in Knightsbrook Trim. The students made a presentation in front of an audience of teachers and students from schools in Co. Meath about their business idea, the locker organiser for schools. They told the audience how they made the product and came up with this innovative business idea. They also talked about the importance of teamwork, communication and leadership skills in a business. The students won the Student Enterprise Awards for Co. Meath last year and represented the school at the National Student Enterprise Awards final in Tullamore.

Under 16 boys soccer training will take place every Thursday at lunch. New panel members welcome. First games of the League and cup will take place in mid September. Managers for the year will be Mr Reilly and Mr Kelly. Under 18 Boys soccer training every Tuesday and Friday at lunch. Managers for the year will be Mr T Lynch and Mr Kelly. First round of the Umbro Leinster Cup will take place in mid September. The team is hoping for another good season after last years great success at under 16 level.

On Wednesday 28th May The Transition Years were delighted to present Mary Moorehead , Chief Executive of the The Mater Foundation with a cheque for € 575.OO. The money was raised at a concert, raffle and a TY fund .This money will go towards funding a Family Screening Clinic for families who have lost loved ones to Sudden Adult Death Syndrome .

Careers Exhibition 2008 - Tuesday, May 27, 2008
Dunshaughlin Community College recently hosted its second annual Careers Exhibition in the school for all students from Transition Year, 5th and Leaving Cert Applied programmes. The event was very successful with over twenty exhibitors from the University, Institute of Technology and Further Education sectors. Representatives from Fas, the guards and the Nursing body were also present. The students each got to attend a variety of organised career and college related talks. Later in the morning the Community Centre hosted the main gallery of stands where students could speak and talk with personnel from each of the colleges .The event was co-ordinated and organised by the two Guidance Counsellors in the school, Ms.Gannon & Ms. Wickham. Transition Year students were also on hand to help out on the day.

First Year Business Studies Quiz - Friday, May 23, 2008
A great morning was had by our 1st Year Business Studies students as Ms Hoyne’s class took on Ms Lawlor’s class. The overall winners were from Ms Hoyne’s class. Jessica Wall, Darren Rattigan and Genevieve Moore Smith. The challenge took the form of a table quiz and the questions were all business based and were from the business studies course. Mr Cumiskey’s 5th Year Business class took the role of scorekeepers and quiz organisers.

German Exchange A Major Success - Tuesday, May 20, 2008
Ten fifth year students from our school participated in a German exchange programme with a school in Olsberg Germany. On April 19th the students flew to Germany and spent two weeks in Olsberg attending school and staying with host families. They were delighted at last to meet their exchange partners as they had been corresponding with them since last November via e mail and instant Messaging.

Shane Holland Visits DCC - Tuesday, May 20, 2008
On Monday 12th June 5th Year LCVP welcomed Shane Holland to DCC to speak about setting up his own business, and design and technology in Ireland. Shane is a past pupil of DCC graduating from the class of 1984. He spoke with fond memories of his time here and told the students of times spent in his Leaving Cert as Art and Engineering were his passions. He mentioned Mr Keegan and Ms Comiskey as particular influences on his career and said that he really couldn't thank them enough for helping him.

Minor Camogie Team Win the Leinster Quarter Final - Monday, May 12, 2008
Dunshaughlin minor camogie girls team travelled to Naas recently to play in the Leinster quarter final. The game led to an impressive start with a quick goal from Shannon Thynne and another soon followed from Adrienne McCann. Dunshaughlin continued to dominate in the first half. The backs had a very important role in the match as Naas made many attempts to break through Dunshaughlins strong defence.

Transition Year Inter Cultural Food Tasting Exhibition - Monday, May 12, 2008
An Inter-Cultural Exhibition and Food tasting session was organised by a group of Transition Year students on the 24th April in Room 18. Three students Eoghan Hogan, Mark Farrell and David Flynn cooked Chilli Con Carne, an Indian Vegetarian Curry and a Chinese Stir Fry for 30 people. They served up their dishes with accompaniments to other members of the Transition Year group and Mr. Browne, Ms. Kenny and Ms. Comiskey. Projects on International Cookery were also exhibited. This was to celebrate Inter-Culturalism in our school and community. The project was overseen by Ms. Kenny and Ms. Brophy.

TY Film News - Tuesday, April 29, 2008
Seventeen Transition Year students attended the Co-Motion Film Festival in Belvedere House,, Mullingar, on Friday 18th April. Their film "Last Night" was screened on both days of the event and received a very enthusiastic reception from the audience and judges. The stars of the film, Aoife Moore and Benjamin Hayes, were spotlighted by the judges during the screening and received a special ovation. Three students were interviewed by RTE about their thoughts on film making and the programme will air on Monday 21st April on RTE 2 at 5pm. The film has already been screened in the Irish Film Institute as part of the Fresh Film Festival and has been submitted to the Cork International Youth Film Festival, which takes place in May.

A Subject Exhibition Day was held by Ms Clarke's two 5th Year LCVP classes. It was part of their Enterprise plan. Students spoke to subject teachers and arranged a presentation on each subject which is available in our school for fifth year. Third Year classes were brought to the exhibition and hopefully it will have helped them in making their choices for next year.

Next week we celebrate Seachtain na Gaeilge in the school. We encourage all of you to make an effort to speak as much Irish as possible. Your teachers will give you a ticket if you make a genuine effort to communicate in Irish. Please put the tickets you get into the box at reception and you will be entered in the draw. There are two competitions running throughout the week. The junior students are invited to design a St. Patrick's Day greeting card and the senior students are encouraged to design a Seachtain na Gaeilge poster. Make sure to give all of your competition entries to your Irish teacher before next Thursday, as entries will be judged on Friday 14th March.

Ski-trip to New Hampshire USA a wonderful experience - Forty students and four teachers have returned from a fantastic skiing trip to New Hampshire. Despite a delayed return due to flight difficulties, the trip was a great success and we look forward to a similar trip next year.

Two third year classes , along with Ms Reidy and Ms McGillivray,went to The Irish Jewish Museum last Wednesday as part of their Junior Cert.R.Ed.studies.The curator of the museum,Raphael Sief spoke to the students and brought them on a tour of the synagogue.

Leaving Certificate Graduation Ceremony - Wednesday, May 30, 2007
The Leaving Certificate Graduation Ceremony took place last Friday night. It began by celebrating a mass. The theme of the mass was “Journey”. The music , readings and sermon aptly captured this theme.
Following the mass, the prize giving took place.

Day for Madeline Mc Cann - Wednesday, May 30, 2007
On Thursday last Ms. Forde and her Transition Year students organised a day to raise money to aid with the search for Madeline Mc Cann. The Transition year students made yellow ribbons and sold these in the school. The day proved very successful.

Careers Exhibition - Friday, May 18, 2007
On Friday the 11th May Dunshauglin Community College hosted a Careers Exhibition. The exhibition was organised by , Ms. Wickham and Ms. Gannon. The morning comprised of a series of two talks for all the 5th year, Transition Year and LCA students. Students got to find out information on careers such as Engineering, Teaching, Science, Business, Sports, Social care, Media Studies and the Guards.

Green Schools - Tuesday, May 15, 2007
The Green Schools Committee is proud to announce that we will receive the Green Flag at the end of the May. The inspectors were very impressed with our application. We are the second secondary School in Meath to have received the flag. There will be a Flag Raising ceremony held at the end of the year, more details will be announced soon.
